Dear Friend,          I’m proud to serve a city with so many active neighborhood associations, including the Golfcrest Country Club Estates, and I’m pleased to be part of your innovative efforts demonstrated by this website. I hope other associations follow your lead by using the web as yet another communications tool to unite friends and neighbors.          As you know, I believe our neighborhood associations are vital components to keeping Dearborn a place we cherish for living, working and raising our families. Dearborn is known as a city of neighborhoods, and its strength has always been its neighborhoods, supported by associations of concerned citizens like you.

         Your input as an association helps to focus our efforts on the issues that are most

important to all of us as residents of a dynamic and diverse community. As a city, we can’t

rest on our past accomplishments or take for granted the quality of life we enjoy. It requires

constant attention, so we know to listen when constructive suggestions are presented.

         While associations often spring to life when there is an issue that involves their area,

neighborhood groups are most effective when they are proactive instead of merely reactive.

         Your group wants to be part of the opportunities that are presented to us as a city on

a regular basis. You’re moving Dearborn forward in a positive direction determined by a

tradition I often brag about: citizen involvement and responsibility.
